What is a Health Coach?

I get this question a lot.  What do you do as Health Coach?  Are you a life coach, nutritionist?   I think it can be helpful to look at this breakdown below for what we do and don’t do as a Health Coach.

There’s no one sized fits all approach when it comes to food and health. 

A health coach is someone trained in various dietary theories and wellness practices that works with you to help you achieve your health and wellness goals – whether it’s losing weight, enhancing your diet, balancing hormones, getting better sleep or having better energy levels.

What does a Health Coach do?

  • Aligning the factors that affect a person’s health is the foundation of health coaching. Such factors include mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, social, and environmental influences.
  • Work with clients seeking to address general lifestyle and wellness goals and support with accountability
  • I create the process to help you reach your goals.  You own the content (what you want to cover, I create the process to get there)
  • Designing a mindful approach with clients to bring balance and alignment into their lives.
  • Health coaches address your lifestyle habits by examining health and conditions which may have been the result of poor habit and lack of integration in lifestyle. 
  • I work on your current state of living and where you want to be in the future (so present and future focused). 
  • As your health coach I will meet you where you are today and together we are going to look ahead and see where you want to be in the future.  Together we are going to come up with a plan and some steps to get there.  I’ll provide accountability for those goals and help you through any challenges along the way.

What is out of scope for a Health Coach?

  • I am not a doctor or physician and will not diagnose, prescribe or treat you. 
  • I am not a Nutritionist or Dietician and will not give you therapeutic meal plans.
  • I am not a therapist diving into childhood or past trauma.

Evidence exists that health coaching can improve health outcomes in:

• ADHD • Asthma • Cancer survivors • Chronic pain • Heart disease • Diabetes • Osteoporosis • Physical activity • Healthy weight balance

Each Session Includes:

  • 50 minute session
  • E-mail support in between sessions
  • Various documents or relevant information to guide you on this journey
  • Possible stretches/strengthening exercises

Health Coaching Rates

1 Session: $125

5  Sessions: $575 ($115/session)

10 Sessions:$1050 ($105/session)
